GOURDS

The gourds are carved with a tool called chisel. They represent different typical scenery from Peruvian highlands. They are worked with burnt leaves in order to give them a natural look. The gourd is a fruit that looks like the pumpkin, which is dried and cleaned to be worked on the surface. They used to depict traditional scenes from country life, but today they present decorative and utilitarian designs, and are used as plates, jewelry boxes, and even Christmas decorations. This art is original from the central part of Peruvian highlands, particularly from the city of Huancayo

WOOD AND LEATHER

It is an art from the north of Peru, particularly from the region of Cajamarca. This is dry, tanned leather, worked by hand with dyes, lacquer, and waxes that keep and treat leather leaving it smooth. It is used in fine furniture and different accessories as shown in the catalog.

Peruvian silver is 9.25 and 9.50 gr, and is worked in different kinds of filigrana, with silver threads , and silver with incrustations of stones and combination with famous shakiras in beads.


TAKING CARE OF YOUR SILVER

Steps to keep your silver in good condition:

1. Clean tarnished or dirty silver, wash it with a mild dishwashing detergent, afterwards, use a toothbrush and baking soda to restore the silver brightness, then rinse the silver with clean water and fully dry it with a non-abrasive/ absorbant cloth.

2. It the silver jewerly has presious stones you may follow the same steps, however be carefull not to damage the stone setting.

3. Please remenber that persperation perfume/ cologne, other personal products, and some activities tend to tarnish silver jewerly.

4. It is recomended that you not bath with the jewerly in order to avoid soap buildup when the silver is not in use store it in a dry container.
